About of 'Takshak' Temple :
Mentioned in the ‘Prayag Mahatmayi Shatadhyayi’ as one of the most sacred places, as the Kundalini Shakti of the Earth is said to recide here. There are some broken carved pieces of stone lying in a corner, which appear to be part of the original structure. Also, available is a stone tablet with some text, probably in Pali. The temple is raised almost 10 ft above the ground on a large platform that also houses a baradari and two other temples. The Takchak Mandir consists of a basic octagonal structure , surrounded by an octagonal colonnade in a simple beam and column affair, which appears to be of recent date, though the antiquity of the existence and location of the temple is not in any doubt. The Garbha Griha is topped by a Lodhi dome, which may be an indication that the temple building may have been adopted at a later date. The five Shivlinga with Naga icons in copper, are housed in the niche formed between three sides of the octagon.
