About of 'St. Peter's Church' Temple :
St. Peter’s ChurchSt Peter's Church at Muirabad was constructed around 1875. The church has a military cemetery belonging to the 19th century. The historic significance of this church is that it was built using the compensation money received after the first war of Indian independence of 1857. The Sikander Orphan Press was shifted here in 1858. More accomodation was required and 45 acres of land were allocated for the purpose, but it could be developed only by 1870. It also houses a dispensary, school house and Parsons’ Residence. Sir William and Lady Muir joined in laying the foundation stone of this church on 17th May 1872. A gothic, exposed brick cruciform structure in brick and plaster, has a central hall, with an apse and wooden truss and tiled roof. It also has a belfry tower, and the space for altar, which are the only parts remaining untouched, as the altar underwent some repairs a few years earlier, rest has all been done in RCC, albeit to imitate the original.
